Dear Friend,

I want to update you on the exciting things happening thanks to your generosity. Thank you for transforming youth with disabilities in India with computer training. I recently received an update from the computer center regarding all of the students enrolled in our computer program for people with disabilities.

The students are so grateful for your support, and none of this would be possible without you.

Thanks to a generous gift from an individual, we got a chance to purchase five new computers for the students at the school. Through another gift, we were able to update all the systems with a current version of Microsoft Office. These computers will provide up to date training for the youth, allowing them to enter the work force with a current skill set.

You see it is people just like you that are making the change in the lives of these students.

We were blessed by two volunteers, they upgraded the software throughout the training institute, established a functioning network, and trained the students for the IT workforce, preparing them before they graduate.

Thank you for transforming the lives of people with disabilities in India through your generosity. Disabled students who join the training program enter with little hope and no self-confidence. But when they leave, they are trained to succeed and have the assurance they can do so. Seventy-five percent of the disabled students find a job soon after graduation.

I'm excited for what the future holds for these students and look forward to seeing more students gain computer training skills.

Sincerely,

John Sparks

Thank you for empowering youth with disabilities
Thank you for empowering youth with disabilities

Dear friend,

Many students with disabilities come from poor families. Because of their disability, they are oppressed and marginalized. The stigma is they can't do anything or pursue a career. No one gives them a chance. But your gift shows students like Devi that you believe in them. You're doing so much good for youth with disabilities. Thank you for your generous support.

Devi is an intelligent and hard-working young woman. Thanks to your gift, she has a job at a multinational company, supervises six staff, and earns a handsome income that provides for her whole family.

As a child, Devi was affected by polio. She is unable to use her legs and must use a wheelchair to get around. She always worked hard in school, but when she graduated from college she struggled to find a job.

Devi signed up for our free computer training, and she studied very hard. When she graduated from the year-long computer course she received an award and was recognized as the "Best Student."

Thanks to you, students with disabilities are able to learn valuable computer skills to get quality jobs in the computer and IT field. Most importantly, these students have a community where they feel loved and accepted for the first time.

Devi immediately found a job after graduating and now works from home. Devi learned so many new skills. But the most important thing she gained was the confidence and self-worth to succeed.

You made this all possible. Thank you again!

Sincerely,

John Sparks

Your gifts to Transforming Youth in India with Computer Training are having significant impact.

A physical disability normally means that you have to work three times as hard to overcome the hindrances that the disability presents.  For the average person this means they give up in despair long before success has an opportunity to come to fruition.

Suneetha is enrolled in the current batch at our Computer Training Institute. Her plan is to combine her college diploma and the experience she is gaining in Information Technology to obtain a government job after graduation.

Suneetha has a sharp sense of humor and joyfully works hard to meet the demands of the course knowing that by excelling she will certainly get a good posting.

As the staff talked with her they learned that she had previously used two crutches for walking.  Though her legs did not function properly, she had enough strength in her legs to support her so that with significant effort she could move with the crutches and therefore navigate through situations where a wheelchair would not allow her to go.

But that was two years ago.  She thought there was no way that she could ever do that again.  The staff, knowing that greater opportunities would be available to her, would not listen to her fears but challenged her to try, and try again.  Each failure was nothing more than a new learning experience.

The day I visited she was seated, not in a wheelchair, but a regular chair while taking part in the training class.  To use the crutches was a struggle but each time was a new success and her confidence began to grow.

In a few months’ time Sunetha will graduate.  Already her self-confidence has set her on a trajectory for success.  She will have a new found mobility to combine with her developed computer skills so that she will be ready for a career in Information Technology.

Thank you for being part of her journey.  A journey you helped transform through your strategic and thoughtful giving through Transforming Youth in India with Computer Training ,

Sincerely,

John Sparks

Rajeev
Rajeev

Dear Friend,

Rajeev was infected by polio during childhood and both his legs were affected, polio is a degenerative disease so he continues to lose capacity in his arms, but mostly a weakness now, he still has the ability to operate a computer.

Before coming to our training center Rajeev had graduated from Business College but his lack of computers meant it was impossible to get work.  He quickly picked up computer skills and realized that with additional training he would be able to excel in business.

He began advanced training alongside Daniel and helped with extra projects that built his coding skills.

Rajeev now has a job at the local University in the business office and has twice been recognized for his contribution to the institutions success.  Because people like you care the training has changed Rajeev’s life!

Your gift is helping young people with disabilities gain hope and self-confidence through computer training. A few months ago I was able to see the previous class graduate. Your gifts enable them to go through training and receive a quality education in computers.  Now they are working and growing in confidence.

Many of the students come from poor families and because of their disability, they are oppressed and marginalized. The stigma is they can't do anything or pursue a career.

Thank you for changing lives and helping people like Rajeev. Your gifts bring the change that transform lives. Without you, Rajeev, and others like him, would suffer needlessly.

Sincerely,

John Sparks

Dear Friend,

You are making the difference in the lives of people that would otherwise suffer in silence, unable to provide for themselves. Your gifts to Transforming Youth in India with Computer Training are having significant impact.

Many of the students come from poor families and because of their disability, they are oppressed and marginalized. The stigma is they can't do anything or pursue a career.

Dipti’s father owns a chai stall.  When Dipti was born he was very happy, he had two sons but was now delighted to have a daughter.  Even as an infant she was happy and joyful.  At a young age she contracted polio and it affected both of her legs.  Her father’s love allowed her to progress through school and the fact that she was not able to run and play with other children meant she was free to excel in her studies.

However, her disability meant she was unable to access the computer lab at college and after she graduated she was unable to get a job due to this insufficiency in her skills.  She was stuck at home, no hope for a career was within her grasp.

She discovered our computer training course through a newspaper ad and quickly enrolled.  She has graduated and is now working for an international medical device firm processing all their invoices for south India.

Through her earning she has been able to help remodel her family’s house and her father’s chai stall is now a restaurant.

Her training has not only changed her life but changed the lives of her whole family.  Her bubbly spirit and brilliant mind transform the lives of others.  Through your generosity she has become a role model for others that they too can succeed when the difficulties of life seem to be more than they can endure.

Thank you for changing lives and helping people like Dipti. Your involvement is critical.

Sincerely,

John Sparks
