This project will construct a health centre with an out-patient wing, a maternity ward, pediatric ward and laboratory with land already been secured to contribute to improved and increased access to maternal and child health services as well as general medical services to over 8,404 people of 5 parishes In Kolir Sub County, Bukedea District, Uganda which travel long distance to access Kolirs HC III after over 8km trekking and riding.
Miroi, Amuen, Kodiata, Oluwa parishes in Kolir Sub County, Bukedea District have no nearby Health facility; the locals live very long distances away from the facilities and trek for over 8Kms to access health care i.e., antenatal, maternity and post natal services, yet these services are critical for the health of mothers and their children. This project will improve access to maternal and child health services as well as general medical services to the community.
The project will build and equip a health centre to extend health services to community members especially mothers and children from poor families that can not afford costs in private clinics, partner with the government/health ministry for provision of free medicines. Therefore, the health centre will offer friendly and timely maternal and child health services to the community, accessing free services while other community members will pay subsidized fees to enable project sustainability.
The project will improve health conditions and increased access to maternal and child health services as well as general medical services to the community with a view to enable their households get out of poverty by. In order to ensure that the project continues and grows, the project will charge a reasonable fee at subsidized rates for services offered. And for women and children from critically poor households, services will be free of charge.
