New and exciting interventions take root at CFYDDI

Children learn to write on the ground.

Hello team, It’s exciting every time to realize how much your support helps to respond to the development needs of our community.  To you all our development partners who generously contribute to CFYDDI initiatives to make things possible, The space now at CFYDDI has expanded only left with the need to furnish, fixing shutters and equipping the facility with supportive operational tools. With the space now available, the early childhood development program takes a central position at the center!!! And this is a great break- through in our effort to wipe out or even scale down escalating illiteracy levels in our communities and the country at large.

Mostly teenage bearing mothers and fathers who cannot afford education due to failure to complete school for various reasons; such young parents always have no option but to decide to bring their children to spend school time at CFYDDI library/ community center as opposed to staying home because of lack of school fees. This made it necessary to initiate and establish and expand the Early Childhood Development.

The Early childhood development program focuses on providing specialized education and training programmes for the disadvantaged, vulnerable groups and gifted children aged between 3-7 years old to learn how to solve problems, communicate and have them ready to join primary schools. This program uses a holistic approach to give a child an extremely vital foundation ahead of their primary education. The child interacts, engages in learning through providing him/her with an opportunity to discover, explore and develop their abilities, talents and strength.

Unlike before, now with the conference building offers users enough space for personal study, revision and do group activities with minimal interruptions.

“This holiday program has been the most amazing, I had time and space to do my holiday package work” remarked Janet aged 7 in primary one.

Over 50 children and youth (between 3 and 18) accessed the facility every day! In the past to satisfactorily handle these different ages that had different reading needs in the library space challenged us. Now with a multipurpose building this bring in new energy, as CFYDDI‘s dream of housing many young people at a time is being fulfilled.

Our special gratitude goes to you all our individual and collective development partners through the GlobalGiving platform, to ORAG, BILD and AHF for your continued support and cooperation in the implementation of this framework that will provide for generations to come a landmark achievement in benchmarking for the nation’s development standards.
