This project would provide the Upper Wenatchee Valley communities of Plain, Leavenworth, Peshastin, and Dryden access to preventative care with current medical devices.
We are a small 9 bed Critical Access Hospital with an aging community. Our current colonoscope is over 15 years old. According to a report from Biomedical Engineering Advisory Group SA (BEAG), the average lifespan of a colonoscope is 5 years. We would like to have current medical equipment to maintain the health and vitality of our community.
An updated colonoscope will provide improved images for our provider to identify areas of concern including ulcers, colon polyps, tumors, and areas of inflammation or bleeding in the small intestine and colon.
This will enable the residents of the Upper Wenatchee Valley to receive the recommended screenings, locally, by eliminating the need to drive 30 miles or more to a larger medical facility.
