Summary

This project aims to build capacity of secondary students towards starting tech-entrepreneur venture. We live in a digital age in which technology plays a role in much of what we do everyday, we use technology at the office, at school and at home. Teaching programming skills to children is seen as a long-term solution to the "skills gap" between the number of technology jobs and the people qualified to fill them. Students will learn how to code to create marketable solutions in Nigeria

Challenge

The wake of this millennium has witnessed a mismatch between the education children receive in Nigerian schools and the life activities they are expected to engage in. It is painful to observe young graduates roaming the streets unsuccessfully looking for jobs while employers spend their time looking for competent workers. There appears to be a huge disconnect between the knowledge imparted in schools and the skill needs of the society they are been prepared for.

Solution

We will provide relevant skills for secondary school students, which is needed for them to survive in this dispensation. We believe that catching them young is the solution to poverty reduction and also equipping future of this great country. This is to deepen the knowledge of the students as we have laid the foundation for them by training over 6000 students in basic programming language.

Long-Term Impact

The impact of this project will come over the years as we groom the students into becoming big developers while still in secondary school in a bit to be entrepreneurs rather than looking for Job and have relevant digital skills for those who will look for Jobs. We have a robust portal that creates an enabling environment for interaction and foster knowledge sharing among students globally. Presently, we have up to 7000 students on the platform and we hope to double it through sharing knowledge
