Natura Foundation Work in Tabasara
Natura Foundation Work in Tabasara

While Natura was completing the registration process on Global Giving, during 2012 we worked on several initiatives to address the problems of climate change and technological alternatives, both in the basin of the Panama Canal and in other priority watersheds. For Tabasará River basin, with funds from multilateral donors, we worked with 33 communities located in Chiriqui and Veraguas provinces. Achievements of the project include:

  • 50 trainings with key stakeholders on issues related to climate change, involving 207 women and 269 men, for a total of 476 participants.
  • 26 ecological stoves built in 26 schools.
  • 36 stoves (blis type) builg in communities.
  • 5 nurseries established to produce 34,300 native species seeds.
  • 8.27 hectares reforested with native species in different communities.
  • 7.55 hectares for agroforestry plots used for food supply and to improve farming practices.
  • 6 modules of chicken farming in 6 communities.
  • 1 module of goats and native rabbit (conejo pintado) in 2 communities

Your support is important to let us continue with our work in other key areas in Panamá. Contribute with us to bring together our goal.
