In cameroon, people live in poverty everyday due to lack of clean water sources. water sources that are available are polluted and are located very far away. Chances are even high that future generations could face the same water crises if action is not taken. With the help of individual donors like you, we have dramatically changed the lives of more than 8,500 rural villagers deep in the Cameroonian bush where people walk up to 7km to fetch water.
In rural villages of Cameroon, the rate of access to drinking water is 49.12% and access to latrines is 7.21%, with a prevalence rate of diarrheal diseases reaching 34%.The average access to water in Bokito Commune is 27% and open defecation remains the general practice. Most schools, health centers, activity centers and railway stations are not equipped with latrines and modern hydraulic infrastructures. Many people die from preventable diseases. Together, we can help them to build resilience.
CKA has created a partnership with 3 local villages. This project addresses water, sanitation, hygiene education to reduce disease. It also has a sustainable agriculture component to help combat the disastrous effects of climate change through irrigation and re-forestation which address malnutrition and hunger. This is a long-term project that is about creating sustainability and helping people to help themselves by providing life's most basic and elemental necessities to live fully. Join us.
Through access to clean water, girls can attend school and women can create sustainable businesses. Improved sanitation reduces disease. Irrigation fights food insecurity and malnutrition. This project will enable sustainability and empowerment. It will increase the resilience of thousands of poor rural farmers, providing them with a chance to thrive, not just survive.
