Challenge

The municipality of Turbo has traditionally been a receptor city for displaced Colombians that are forced to leave their homes because of conflict situations or for lack of economic opportunities. The city lacks appropriate spaces for children to play and practice sports in; and the influx of people from different parts of the country has caused social disturbances and governance problems in its neighborhoods.

Solution

This project will give 60 children between the ages of 6 and 12 a safe and appropriate space were they will learn about the territory they inhabit, their rights and obligations as Colombians and the importance of protecting the environment.

Long-Term Impact

This project will provide the municipality of Turbo with an appropriate space for children to play, practice sports and learn about their environment. It will also foster a healthy and positive connection between children and the environment.

This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
