This project will develop the capacity of religious leaders ,government leaders and other community leaders to sustainable reduce child labor in Morogoro Municipal,Morogoro Region.The Project will be implemented in five wards and it is expected to reach 5000 beneficiaries.This one year project capitalises on the unparralled opportunity that faith leaders have to impact on child labor both through their extensive outreach programs within the communities at all levels.
There are more than 5300 (3000 male and 2300 females) engaged in child labor Morogoro Municipal (MOSAPORG Identification Report 2015). Household economic capacity and poverty are huge factors for child labor.MOSAPORG plan to use potential of local levels faith institutions to demonstrate an effective and proactive response to eliminate child labor.The project build a partnership with religious leaders on eliminating child labor.The project will affect more than 5300 child on child labors.
MOSAPORG will harness the potential of the local religious leaders to demonstrate an effective and proactive response to eliminate child labor.A number of local churches and mosques in different parts of the country established support vulnerable children programs.MOSAPORG believe that there is an urgent need to use the religious leaders through training them eliminate child labor a sustainable ways and that this can only happen if interventions embedded in family and communities.
The project will train and educate 200 religious leaders on the essential of religious institutions on eliminating child labor in a sustainable manner in order to eliminate the child labor to 5300 children involved on child labor in Morogoro Municipal.
