The Cazuca Futbol Club (CFC) is a high-performance soccer team born in the heart of Altos de Cazuca, one of the most vulnerable areas around Bogota. It provides young people with the opportunity to build their life projects through soccer and become professionals, so that they can stay away from risky environments such as illegality, gangs, and drug use. Currently, the CFC brings together more than 100 players who dream of reaching the big teams and having entire stadiums shout their names.
Cazuca is one of the most dangerous areas in Colombia for children and teenagers due to the presence of gangs and illegal groups, and the lack of opportunities in education and employment. Consequently, when building their life plans, children and teenagers in this area are at risk of turning to illegal activities due to the absence of alternatives that focus on their talents, interests, and abilities, which can offer them different opportunities to thrive and meet their basic human needs.
The CFC is an alternative for young people who are interested in soccer as a life project. This club provides them with the necessary training to become professional soccer players, and offers them the opportunity to participate in various high-performance tournaments. In this way, by participating in the team's training sessions and adhering to the club's rules, the CFC helps keep young people away from illegal groups and negative influences.
The CFC provides young people the opportunity to plan their future around their interests and skills, while keeping them away from negative influences. By offering professional training and high-performance tournaments, the players develop the skills needed to become part of professional teams in the long term. Through this alternative, the community can change, with more young people aspiring to pursue a career in soccer and reducing the negative impact of illegality in Cazuca.
