With the turn of the calendar, we take a look back at 2012 and thank you all for your incredible support of Casting 4 A Cure. Our fifth year was by far our best year ever in terms of our ability to raise awareness and critical funding for Rett Syndrome research and family support projects. Some of our highlights for the year:
We were able to donate over $90,000 to The International Rett Syndrome Foundation, which was critical in securing $1.5M in research funding for 2013. You can find out more information on the projects that were fundedHERE
This year we were able to raise awareness about Casting 4 A Cure and Rett Syndrome through numerous written articles, including a great piece about our Victor, ID event which appeared in in the Fly Fish Journal. The article was written by FFJ editor in chief, Jeff Galbraith.
Our Bar Z Ranch event outside of Bozeman MT, was also the subject of an episode of the popular fly fishing show, Seasons on the Fly, hosted by Greg Heister and airing on NBC Sports. Feel free to check out the episode HERE. We had an incredible response to the show and we were able to connect with numerous people interested in getting involved. Many thanks to the Hanson family, Bar Z Ranch staff and guides, andSeasons on the Fly for their commitment and support to Casting 4 A Cure.
And a hearty and genuine THANK YOU to all our sponsors, participants and volunteers in 2012! Without you, we could not have done any of this. With you, we truly do get closer to a cure with every cast!
