While this is an uncertain time, the need to rescue homeless, neglected and abused pets continues - and they are counting on you more than ever. By donating, you are helping OHS continue to provide life-saving medical care, needed behavior training, and spay and neuter surgeries as well as transport pets from overcrowded shelters, fund Humane Investigations to rescue animals from cruelty and neglect, and ultimately, get 11,000+ pets into loving homes each year.
Although animal companions can't get or transmit COVID-19, the pandemic still has an impact on shelter animals. Every year, more than 11,000+ dogs, cats, and small animals come to the Oregon Humane Society in search of a better life. Thanks to the support of donors, adopters, and other members of our community, we can find new homes for these pets. But with the COVID-19 pandemic, our shelter has suspended or adjusted many services that help fund our adoption program.
With your support, OHS will be able to continue providing care to shelter pets during the COVID-19 crisis, providing medical care to pets that need it, behavior and training to help shelter animals gets ready for a new home, placing animals into foster homes or finding new permanent homes through our current appointment-only adoption process.
Your support during this crisis will help animals get the love and care they need to flourish both in the shelter and once they are adopted, and help OHS continue to create a more humane society for all.
