The Care Volunteers Network children education centre is a project located at Tafi Atome which is nestled in the heart of Volta Region 43km south of Hohoe and less than 200km north of Accra lies the beautiful peaceful village. The co-founder/coordinator of CVN could not ignore the plight of vulnerable and destitute children in the slum and fishing communities who had lost their parents due to different diseases and other effects of poverty thus the CVNEC is found and we are small nonprofit .
Children are the country's greatest resources and represent hope for a better future.Profound poverty, competition for scarce resources, diseases, addictions and lack of education opportunities put these children at extreme risk for illiteracy, illness, hopelessness, abuse and the meager resources accessible is the common definition of the urban poor child living in the Ghanaian slum. Few opportunities exist for the children of Tafi and surrounding communities that allow them to learn their potential.
The project will be supported by a focus on five key areas that will solve the problem. 1) Establish a well equipped education center with relevant technology to promote a competitive edge in a fast paced globalizing world. 2) Provision of affordable quality education 3) Skills train for children and the youth to promote enhanced organizational capacity building, strong financial resource based. 4) Provide material and financial support to orphans and vulnerable children and feeding program.
Children are the reason for the Care Volunteers Network education Centre program, will make a huge difference to young people and give them a real chance for a much better future. Giving a child an education, means that we will be able to create opportunities to 500+ children that five years ago were simply not possible. The children of Tafi Atome and surrounding areas will have little chance of learning skills which could have helped them find meaningful and long term employment.
