ACTS Oregon has found collaboration partners in the ever growing need for Car seat inspections. This has helped us not only expand our activities centered around Car Seats but also our activiities around education.
We are now partnering in expanding our educational outreach with two local hospitals as part of their new parent program. All of our car seat check up events included more educational activities. Our collaboration has led to greater expansion of our ability to participate in safety fairs and community safety events.
Our car seat program has benefited from this activity in the form of more volunteers and certified techs to assist us in reducing the number of children riding in improperly installed or incorrrectly sized car seats. To date we have been able to distribute over 5000 car seats to familes of low income. Our need continues to out pace our ability to distribute but we continue to serve as a vehicle for saving lives.
