Our project continues to grow. The last special event was held at Kohls store in Portland. There were over 100 families in line waiting to have their car seats inspected. We distributed 39 seats to low income families and checked over 77 seats. There were 11 technicians and 4 volunteers from the Kohls store there to assist us in the distribution process. Unfortunately there were 33 families that were unable to receive our services that day due to their time constraints. The need continues to arise and we will be there to serve the community and help keep kids safe in cars.
To date ACTS Oregon has been able to reach over 27,000 families through this program. We have distributed over 230 seats to families that have low income. This program continues to be the most successful way to reduce injuries and prevent fatalities in automobiles in the state of Oregon.
