This project seeks to impart youth with values that will enable them start up their own small enterprise (SMEs) & some find jobs that can help them attain a good standard of living. The skills to be trained include among others, leadership & management skills, effective decision making, finance control & management, skills for searching for jobs & multiple sources of income from handcrafts & cultural heritage business, work behavior & ethics. The project will help 40,000 youth come out poverty
The District Council & other development partners have setup many projects in the municipality but none is in line with helping the youth with the issue of unemployment that has greatly affected the young men. Many of the youth are resorting to theft, drugs trafficking,prostitution & ignorance and many other vices that can easily take their lives. This project is therefore concerned about the well-being of the day to day life of the youth, with increasing unemployment & find proper solutions
The proposed project will solve problems through reducing youths poverty income & illiteracy through providing training, business management skills, leadership skills, marginalized youths borrowing groups, entrepreneurial skills development, book keeping skills & in savings mobilization to enable them access revolving fund to improve on their income & income generation for their households. Funds will will help youths to setup their own small businesses, create more employment & reduce poverty.
-NGOs and government authorities are involved in the project and provide the needed support. -Access credit for their micro-business, leading to increased incomes for participating households & better nutrition, get empowered socially & economically. -Alleviation of poverty from midst, increased self-respect & esteem among 40000 poor youths clients who will strive to succeed & overcomes poverty, -Promotion of youths self-employment in terms of jobs creation & poverty alleviation
