Challenge

Cervical and Breast cancers are most common type of cancers among women in slums of Srikalahati, India. Most of the women are not aware of the disease and there is no access to screening, information about the disease. They have several misconceptions, misinformed or misunderstand the aspects of cancers. If screening the disease in early stage is not done, it will continue to go undiagnosed and untreated. STEPS NGO will organize cancer awareness and screening camps, referral services to women.

Solution

Organizing cancer awareness and screening camps for women in slums. Providing accurate, accessible, up-to-date information and awareness on cancers. Developing an effective screening campaign for early detection and referrals to cancer control.

Long-Term Impact

This project will provide awareness and screening of 15000 poor women in slums, which will protect their health and save them from the disease.
