BRYESA is a programme based in Butema rural that provides holistic approach to the development of the youth. It is designed to build new generation of youth that self sustaining and capable of becoming productive member of the society.The project through its educational and skills development programmes builds the capacity of the youth by imparting in them knowledge and skills that are tailored to meet their diverse needs and are relevant to their local environment,
Butema is both a rural town but has peri-urban characteristic due to its proximity the district capital. There is a lot migration of youths with a different type of habits. These include drug abuse, alcoholism, early marriages / pregnancies, petty crime and fragmentation of families. Additional to that, there also a problem of lack of skills and entry point into formal employment, lack of funds/business startup , lack of trust by the community and ignorance of girls and young women.
BRYESA will address the above problems through a multi-pronged approach that involves; Vocation skills, Literacy skills and applied computational skills, which will be followed with agriculture , training, mentoring and technical skills.as a result of applying business principles. Counseling, sports coaching, competition and life skills education as well as music dance and drama performance, goal setting moral values, group dynamics and self actualization. Hence income generating activities.
To equip youth with moral, ethical and life skills that will enable them to set goals for their lives identify and avoid potential threats, take firm and socially acceptable decisions. To enable the youths to adopt saving culture and to gain the ability to make sound financial decisions in the areas of investment and consumption. To train youths in agricultural, vocational and entrepreneurial skills to enable them enter the job market and to undertake income generating activities
