The project seeks to inculcate the social norms and values in delinquent youth group by developing a sense of responsibility and good conduct among them. It will enhance the chances of employability as well as promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among them. Liberia's post conflict environment has led to several socioeconomic situations and problems in Liberian including high unemployment. After training, the need to start their own business.
Youth unemployment in Liberia is as high as 85% according to the United Nations. About 35% of males and 42% of females in youth category are detached from the job market in Liberia due to the lack of proper skills and training. These scaring statistics must provoke national leaders and partners to focus more on finding lasting remedy to youth issues.
Increase the skills and abilities of vulnerable young people, mostly live in slums communities to be self-dependent, employable, active and competitive in their effort - to have and live a sustainable, fruitful and rewarding life. Moreover, the attainment of vocational training will definitely contribute immensely to the eradication of major weaknesses in the slums communities:
The project will mainly serve two target groups; the direct target group and intermediate target group who are recruited from the Gardnervillee township slums communities' schools where the underprivileged youths who are perceived to be as the burden and non-productive members for the society. The vulnerability of the youth will be judged by the extent of his/her relevance in the society as well as the interest shown by him/her towards the Project.
