Over 757 million people cannot read a single sentence. Let's change that! We are closing the global opportunity gap by increasing access to education via 3D printed schools. Thinking Huts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit is addressing overcrowding and lack of physical infrastructure which are large barriers to education. Our pilot project will build the world's first 3D printed school in Southern Madagascar. Using 3D printing, we will decrease construction time and reduce our carbon footprint.
According to UNESCO, over 260 million children do not have access to education. In Madagascar, 60% of the 1.3 million primary-age students are not enrolled in school due to overcrowding and insufficient investment in education infrastructure. Overcrowding due to a lack of classroom infrastructure is a barrier to quality education and limits the opportunities for students.
Thinking Huts will close the opportunity gap by encouraging technological innovation. We will address the education infrastructure problem of overcrowding with 3D printed schools that decrease construction time and waste.
Our project will provide technology transfer, support the local economy, and impact over 200 students as we scale our concept to multiple communities we form relationships with.
