We evaluate institutions' accessibility across five disability types and visualize the results on a public map, helping cities become more inclusive and barrier-free.
People with disabilities face daily barriers due to inaccessible buildings, transportation, and public services. Cities lack comprehensive, up-to-date accessibility data, making planning difficult and limiting equal participation in education, employment, and social life.
The Accessibility Map assesses institutions based on five disability categories-physical, visual, hearing, cognitive, and mobility-and visualizes their accessibility scores. We engage municipalities, NGOs, and disability experts to improve access and monitor progress.
Inclusive cities are built on equity, representation, and access. Needs Map Global created the Accessibility Map to support municipalities and communities in identifying barriers and designing solutions. The platform provides: 1) A 5-dimension accessibility score 2) Mapping of schools, hospitals, cultural centers, and public buildings 3) Training for municipalities and institutions 4) Reports and recommendations for accessibility improvements 5) Citizen participatory mapping
