Dear Supporters and Partners,
We are honored to share our latest progress update on the "Enhancing the Quality of Life for Cancer Survivors" project. Your support has continued to make a significant difference in the lives of cancer survivors in our communities.
1. Program Highlights
Over the past five months, the project achieved the following:
Psycho-social Support:
Held 12 group therapy sessions and 20 one-on-one counseling sessions.
Created a safe space for survivors to share experiences, fears, and healing journeys.
Medical Navigation Support:
Supported 15 survivors in accessing follow-up treatment and scans.
Linked 8 clients to SHA and other affordable care services.
Nutrition & Wellness Workshops:
Conducted 4 workshops focusing on healthy eating, physical activity, and stress management.
Distributed wellness kits containing supplements, food items, and hygiene supplies.
Economic Empowerment:
Trained 10 survivors in small business skills and financial literacy.
Two women opened kiosks and are reintegrating into their communities.
2. Key Impact
Improved emotional wellbeing and reduced isolation
Enhanced access to healthcare and treatment adherence
Empowerment through income-generating opportunities
Stronger community awareness and acceptance
3. Survivor Spotlight:
Beatrice, a breast cancer survivor from Nairobi, shared:
"After my chemotherapy, I felt lost and forgotten. But this program helped me heal—not just my body, but my spirit. I now run a small juice stand and lead a support group for others."
Her strength reminds us of the power of community and compassion.
4. Challenges
Stigma around cancer remains a barrier, especially in rural areas.
Financial constraints limit the number of survivors we can reach with full packages.
5. Looking Ahead
In the next phase, we plan to:
Launch a mobile outreach program for rural survivors
Introduce peer mentorship groups
Expand our wellness and livelihood packages to 30 more survivors
