Provide 99 preschoolers in various States of Mexico with communication tools and cognitive basis for ethical behavior to prevent first violence and bullying at school and then drug or crime involvement, and to foster peaceful and altruistic human interactions.
As crime and violence worsens in Mexico, children are increasingly vulnerable as both targets and recruits to the drug cartels. Moreover, violence often starts with bullying at school or in the close environment. The problem is that neither schools nor families are providing the right tools to equip children in an often hostile and low-opportunity environment. This project will allow 99 preschoolers in various States of Mexico to attend the ethical development program developed by CIDEL University
Allow 99 Mexican children and 4 educators to attend an ethical development program, in which they will be confronted to moral dilemmas, conflicting or crisis situations, value judgments or dogmas, and where they will practice active listening and constructive dialog.
Through the program, they will acquire communication tools and develop mediation skills and tolerant attitudes, which will be truly integrated in their way of thinking and acting, as they grow older.
The 99 preschoolers will themselves achieve an ethical development but also will spread an appeased atmosphere around them thanks to their strong mediation and communication skills, so this program will also benefit 198 parents. We expect immediate reduction of conflicts and violence in their close environment, but most of all we expect this project will be the first step of a general awareness in Mexico that the issue has to be tackled upstream.
