This project will build two classroom structures, and will enable children to study in a less congested and more conducive environment. At God's mercy Orphanage Centre children share one classroom structure with students of the Adult Literacy. The classroom has a separation of plywood. The classroom is congested during study time for both classes. The New classroom structures will be allocated to children only.
God's mercy orphanage Centre as an Organization working to address the problem of illiteracy for both children and women in Kisoro District.There is a challenge of illiterate caregivers of God's Mercy Orphanage children who offer less Education support to the orphans because they are illiterate and do not Value Education. In order to involve them in the children's study,we began Functional Adult Literacy program. The classrooms will help decongest classes and will separate children from adult.
More study space will be available for the children and Adults. Other programs will be added to the curricular like the science fares and Art classes which could not be done due to lack of space. More Caregivers will be enrolled in the Functional Adult Literacy Program.
Literacy is at the heart of basic Education for all. With the two new classroom structures built there will not be any congestion during class hours. More children will attend classes. Adults will be more involved with their children Education because they will have known the Value. Functional Adult Literacy will be permanently adopted as one of the programs of God's Mercy Orphanage Center because we shall be having study infrastructure.
