Project #7565

Build School for 80 Students in Arid Kachuru Kenya

by Network for Ecofarming in Africa
Dec 30, 2011

Progress Report on Help Build School in Kachuru.

In the year 2011, 2 classrooms were constructed and 4 rehabilitated, about 30 desks were provided. We believe that Provision of basic education for all is a central element in poverty reduction, as the acquisition of basic academic skills including literacy will expand the access of Kachuru citizens to employment opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.

Universal access to primary school is the surest strategy for increasing equity in the education system ,since ensuring that all children are able to enroll in school opens up new opportunities for previously disadvantaged children, including girls, children with special needs and children from provinces and districts where access is now limited.

We hope to get enough funds to construct more classrooms, start up a lunch programme and other facilities required for conducive learning.

We wish to thank our donors for their continued support
