This project will build five classrooms to provide free education for poor children and orphans who hail from the poorest communities in Mulanga Village. We hope to secure the materials and resources necessary to build and operate a primary school in Mulanga, going some way towards lifting the community out of poverty. The Community has already donated 2 acres of land to support this cause.
Over 500 poor children and orphans Mulanga village wake up every single day without a school to attend and those who do have to walk miles to the nearest primary school which has no adequate school facilities. Although the Umbrella of Hope Foundation has provided scholarships to some of these children, many are at a risk of missing out on school because they cant afford scholastic materials. This project will affect more than 1000 children who reside in Mulanga and the neighboring communities
Providing education directly to these children will be less expensive and sustainable without relying on child sponsorship, and with the classrooms built we will be able to educate more children and offer more services. The students will benefit from a school system specifically designed to meet their needs as poor children and orphans. The school will provide Early childhood development, free education, free play toys, reading books, health and constructive activities, and care and support.
These classrooms will be an important investment that will benefit hundreds of children who will attend this school and the entire community. Instead of sponsoring few children, by building classrooms we will provide not only learning space for poor children and orphans year after year but will also serve as a source of pride and a catalyst for change within Mulanga village and the neighboring villages.
