Over the last quarter, the Sanejo team together with Ntenyo School leaders have experienced a number of achievements: 2014 Primary Leaver’s National exams results were published in January, a new experienced and passionate principal was appointed to the school, and we have also recruited a new university intern to work with teachers and students to better improve teaching methodologies and English skills.
Education & School Leadership
Ntenyo’s 2014 finishing class outperformed at the Primary Leavers’ National Exam with a 100% success, and the top 6 students were admitted into excellence schools. This great performance ranked the school among the top 5 schools in the district.
Furthermore, the school has new leadership. Veronique Uwiremye is the new principal. She has been in primary schools leadership for more than 6 years, and she is very passionate about education and teacher empowerment. There was a rotation amongst teachers, thanks to which the school was appointed three new teachers, and two of our teachers were appointed to another school in the district. These appointments are done in order to expand and share knowledge amongst schools in the district.
Teacher Training & Construction
Sanejo has recruited Hope Nyangoma, a new university intern. She will be joining our other three amazing interns; Jean Pierre, Florence and Godwin, to work with teachers and students in improving teaching methodology, English and computer skills as well as the use of ICTs as teaching tools.
In order to complete the school construction, a security fence and a gate were built to close the school property.
In one word, the beginning of this year has been promising and undoubtedly a beginning of another twelve months of successes, improvements and new learning outcomes!
