Transformational Community Development provides tools and education necessary for villagers living in extreme poverty to rise out and build a strong future for themselves. Focusing on five key issues known to keep cyclical extreme poverty alive, villagers resolve each issue over a five year period to become self-sustaining, confident and moving toward a prosperous future.
Civil war, drought and difficult terrain has hindered ability for most humanitarian aid organizations to reach those rural communities in Western Africa - Chad, Cotes D'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo and more. These villagers live in extreme poverty, lack sufficient food and water, and suffer high infant mortality.
National TCD workers are ready to launch in these areas to bring all to a sustainable and balanced life. Over a five year period, the key issues keeping extreme poverty alive will be resolved. These issues are access to clean water; a renewable nutritious food source; education for all children; wellness habits to prevent disease; and income generating sources for families. When these issues are resolved, foundations are built for generations to remain sustainable.
Long term impact include - all families making more than $5 per day; enough food for every person in the village to have a healthy diet with at least two meals per day; clean water to be easily accessed by every family; preventable disease to be eliminated in the community; and every child completing primary school. Each generation will increase and grow on the firm foundation established.
