The Gift of Time Together

For Jesse and his family, a stay at The Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin provided an opportunity to enjoy quality time away from the confines of a hospital. The cabin became a place of joy, happiness, adventure, and healing during a painful and sad time.

Located on 24 wooded acres near Pacific City, Oregon, this unique, secluded home is surrounded by a serene, private lake for kayaking, boating, and fishing. The Caring Cabin provides children and teens facing cancer and terminal illnesses, along with their families, an extraordinary place to relax and create once-in-a-lifetime memories.

Other CCA programs that prescribe joy to families with seriously ill children and teens include:

  • Chemo Pal® Mentor Program, a program that pairs children and teens one-to-one with compassionate adults who offer supportive relationships throughout chemotherapy or other treatments;
  • Link, a family enrichment program that brings hope during the overwhelming and financially depleting journey by helping families with essential needs; and
  • MusicRx®, CCA’s flagship music medicine program that soothes and rejuvenates hospitalized children, teens, their family members, and the medical professionals who care for them, by infusing the hospital environment with the healing power of music.

With your generous donation CCA can grow these award-winning programs to prescribe joy to more seriously ill children, teens, and their families.
