Ma Ma Khal and two friends at daycare.
I just wanted to share a story about one of our daycare beneficiaries in Afghanistan whose photo we showed you in late August. Six-year-old Ma Ma Khal attends the recently opened GoodWeave-sponsored daycare in Balkh Province, Afghanistan.
And, she already loves it.
Before going to daycare every day, she did not always have enough food at home for her to eat and thanks to your initial support and GoodWeave, she now receives regular healthy meals and snacks. She also loves her teachers and is proud of the fact that she’s already committed 10 poems to memory, as well as the national anthem.
Her mother—a work from home weaver—feels that a burden has been lifted off her shoulders. She says, “now that our children are at GoodWeave daycare center, we can weave carpets without any concerns about our children’s health, food and playing.” She adds, “We are very happy that our children get snacks during the day and a nutritious lunch every day. Nothing is more important to a mother than being sure about the well-being, food and safety of her child.”
Thanks to your support to the Bring A Daycare To Balkh Province, Afghanistan project, both Ma Ma Khal and her mother have new opportunities in life.
Thank you for help making it possible.

PS. Just a reminder that on October 17th is GlobalGiving’s final Bonus Day of the 2012. GlobalGiving is offering a match on all donations given on that day. This is a fantastic opportunity to increase the impact of your support of working mothers and their children who attend daycare.
Also, please help us spread the word about this opportunity to your family and friends through Facebook and email.
