Children from post conflict communities continue to experience challenging situations in accessing quality education, they perform poorly in Schools due to lack of basic Scholastic requirements. Girls miss class lessons during menstrual period in fear of the boys, early marriages & dropping out of Schools. Many children are also forced to seek employment to cater for their household needs at the expense of studies leading to high rate of Child labour and neglect however girls will be supported.
Northern Uganda civil conflict greatly disrupted growth of youths from childhood resulting to lost opportunity for meaningful education leading to high drop outs, unemployment and loss of skills and opportunities for employment for earning incomes; increased vulnerability to antisocial behaviors such as alcoholism and drug abuse, prostitution / transaction sex resulting to many teenage pregnancies and parenthood, HIV infection, and general poverty.
