We are thrilled to share the strides we are making to enhance digital literacy skills for young people in Venezuela.
Since our last update, we have distributed over 120 Microsoft Office licenses, refurbished 71 computers, and provided 14 laptops to school students, supporting an incredible 1,097 students and 44 teachers across three schools.
In October 2023, we launched our flagship programme, 'Coding for the Future' across two schools in Petare to empower young people with coding and essential digital skills. Each week, we are delivering Basic Coding and Advanced Coding courses to over 60 students, and beyond the computer screen, instilling their confidence and improving their social skills - useful for navigating many aspects of life.
We are delighted to report we have completed the build of a new IT lab with 18 computers and full internet access! We have also brought on board four highly skilled teachers who have been instrumental in recruiting and training 50 volunteers to support Coding for the Future.
We couldn’t have done any of this without your generosity and support in our education work. Thank you!
Stay tuned for more exciting updates as the school year unfolds!
