Creative Life Foundation connects children and parents in urban and rural Thailand to critical resources, creating a pathway to freedom and preventing human trafficking. Through access to education, a path to citizenship, and holistic care, we are helping break generational cycles of poverty, prevent child marriage, and strengthen communities. Our programs are directly impacting 200+ people.
Children and families most vulnerable to human trafficking in Thailand are often trapped in deep generational cycles of poverty-lacking access to education. Parents who live in survival mode don't have the luxury of investing in education for their child[ren]. When compulsory education ends, students drop out of school and pursue low-paying jobs. In the villages, girls often drop out of school to get married. Lack of education keeps children and families vulnerable to exploitation.
Our Theory of Change is rooted in the understanding that local problems demand local solutions. This premise is at the heart of all program initiatives and guides our strategic actions as an organization. At Creative Life Foundation, we take a preventative approach to human trafficking. Through our programs that provide access to education, a path to citizenship, and holistic care, we will help break the very cycle that keeps people vulnerable to exploitation.
While only 6% of the parents in our programs graduated high school, today, 85% of their children have gone on to complete their secondary education (a staggering 1316% increase). Currently, we are on target to increase graduation rates over the next 2-3 years. With our holistic and individualized approach, our students can continue pursuing their dreams of higher education by enrolling in university. With that, we will continue breaking cycles of poverty and exploitation in Thailand.
