We are providing a fun, safe and educational after school program for children (6 years to 12 year olds) in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Our academic enrichment, sports clinics, entrepreneurial development, and community service outreach program will equip children to be positive youth leaders. Our goal is to expand Boys and Girls Club model into villages throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. We will provide an afterschool program for 450 R.A Padayachee Students & welcome 300 children from community.
In KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, many preschool & primary aged (6 years - 12 year olds) children roam the streets during the school day. Afterschool, more children pour into the street or return home with no adult supervision. We have partnered with R.A. Padaychee Primary School in the Shakashead Community to extended the school hours from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. At 5:30 pm our Family Partner Evening Patrol host a Storytelling & Game Night at the local community until 8:00pm.
The Boys and Girls Club of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa will provide children with a full after school program which would focus on: Academic Development: Basic education/Academic intervention, Tutoring, School Re-entry Programs, and Vocational training: (entrepreneurial development, computer programming and business management) Physical Development: Sports training and development (highlighting boys and girls soccer); and Nutrition and Hygiene Classes
A partnership with R.A. Padayachee Primary School, Abundant Life Orphanages and The Boys and Girls Club of KwaZulu-Natal South Africa will provide a model of how communities facing high crime and a large population of at-risk children can work together to keep our children safe. Once we establish ourselves within this community we will expand our Boys and Girls Club to other communities.
