In the past, sport was considered important for the development of young people; however, the potential for sport participation to affect positive development across the lifespan is now recognized. Aging comes with many challenges. The loss of independence is one potential part of the process, as are diminished physical ability and age discrimination. The term senescence refers to the aging process, including biological, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual changes. Boxing as sport is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle for as long as possible, rather than becoming inactive in our golden years because the moment you stop using it, you lose it! Why Is It So Important For Elderly People To Remain Active? Elderly people who remain active and physically fit benefit from a reduced risk of conditions like heart disease, strokes and some forms of cancer. Stronger muscles, joints and bones also help to increase mobility and independence.

Long-Term Impact

1. leading a sedentary lifestyle is one of 10 leading causes of death and disability. Even gentle, regular exercise such as walking or swimming can increase lifespan by around three to five years. 2. Prevent falls Improving muscle strength and bone density can be helpful in reducing the risk of falls as it can also improve balance. The WHO say regular exercise can reduce the risk of having a hip fracture by 40%. 3. Reduced risk of stroke or heart attack
