Summary

Amina is six years old and stays with her auntie in a rented house in Luweero District about 60 kilometers away from Kampala Town, Uganda's Capital city. Amina was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma ( Cancer of the eye) and to stop the cancer from spreading, her eyes were removed. She was abandoned by her Mother and her father died . She now stays with her auntie in a rented one bedroom house that is also incomplete. Amina needs to go to school and get artificial eyes and her auntie needs a house.

Challenge

A family led by a single mother who is jobless but living with a child special needs (Blind) and can not look after her due to financial constraints.Amina who is still receiving treatment after an eye surgery was performed on her to remove both her eyes now wants to go to school but can not be supported by her auntie. Her father died on seeing her daughter blind due to High Blood pressure and her mother abandoned her with her three sisters. Amina now needs to study and her aunties need a home.

Solution

Amina( the blind girl) will be able to receive her treatment, go to school and her auntie get a small business to support the family and a permanent place to call home
