The TEN Charities "Empower 300 survivors with jobs and renewable energy project" on Global Giving has been completed! Thank you so much of your contributions that have provided economic empowerment to survivors of human trafficking with a biogas plant at one of the aftercare shelters in India. Please see our previous report with pictures of the capacitor and cattle. The biogas is also being used as fuel in the shelter's kitchen. Your generous support made this eco friendly project viable. Thank you!
TEN Charities/Made By Survivors is now focusing on employment centers in partnerships with The Rescue Foundation and Women's Interlink Foundation. At these employment centers survivors will learn the art of goldsmithing. Female survivors are learning goldsmithing techniques and creating beautiful jewelry. In India goldsmithing is a well-paying career that has traditionally been exclusively practiced by men. The girls in the Made By Survivors Jewelry Center are earning a good income and their social status is being elevated from that of slave to one of the most prestigious careers available in India.
Please visit our projects at Global Giving http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/free-forever/ and http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/mbs-jewelry-centers/ that discuss more about our employment centers and consider supporting these projects with your donations.
You can also purchase the jewelry and other products made by survivors at our website www.madebysurvivors.com.
Again thank for empowering 300 survivors of human trafficking in India and ensuring their freedom with jobs!
