Reception Teachers' training

The purpose of our training is to provide teachers with an opportunity to practice various teaching strategies, guidelines, in the real classroom.

Induction Procedures for New Teachers

Newly hired teachers were provided mentoring and special training for their first month of employment in the online School. This training may continue for the rest of the year. The induction experience would orient, mentor, and support new teachers to enable them to perform at an effective and ever-improving level and find personal and professional satisfaction as a member of the JAAGO Online teaching group.

During the first few weeks of employment, each new teacher had to attend an orientation program by JAAGO Foundation. Topics included a JAAGO Foundation overview, professional growth opportunities, evaluation procedures, certification procedures, and personnel policies and procedures.

As we have just started the new academic session, more than 40 teachers have recruited for the new academic session. Therefore new teachers are going through the induction procedures for JAAGO Online School.

Reception Teachers’ training

JAAGO Foundation provides continuous briefing and mentoring through the Education Coordinator to the teachers. Apart from that, we facilitate various trainings for the teachers on need-basis. In the month of February, we have provided training for the Reception teachers. Key concepts taught include the following:

  • Reception Curriculum
  • Learning outcomes of the Reception Class
  • Teaching Strategies for the Reception Class
  • Guideline for the teachers

Teacher's Training at Chittagong

Active learning is a significant approach to ensure quality education. We believe in active learning where learners can always play the key role in the classroom. With more to that, this year, our Education Team arranged a teacher’s training session consisting of two days, on Active Learning where the different methods and strategies of active learning were taught. Also, this teacher’s training session helped to articulate how students become more active than a traditional class. This workshop on "Active Learning" for the teachers was held in Chittagong and we hope to see more positive outcomes from these workshops in near future.

Thank You

We wholeheartedly thank all our supporters for where we are now. This was only possible only because we stood by each other. Only thanking you will not suffice of what you have done for us. Therefore, we are incorporating our current project “Better Teacher, Brighter Future” with our “Free of cost School for underprivileged children of Bangladesh” project for a much greater cause. Stay with us and be a reason for the change.

Teacher's Training:

Quality education demands quality teachers. To ensure students learning clear, specific and enjoyable, teacher training plays a vital role. Teachers must not only master their subjects, they must also develop strong teaching skills. New teachers need practice teaching combined with effective mentoring in order to help them understand what is required from them in their new position. However, it is imperative that student teachers are placed in appropriate classes that meet their interests. Keeping these on the mind, the Education Program of JAAGO Foundation has arranged two training sessions for the teachers to ensuring quality education for our kids. People from the Education team supervised the teachers and provided feedback each day to help the student teachers learning. This training gave them better understanding of teaching learning process, class management, and planning curriculum for the future. We have conducted these two training sessions in two phases for our 13 schools.

School Science Book:
Science holds powerful places in contemporary society, setting the foundations for entry into some of the most robust and highest-paying industries. However, effective science education is not equally available to all students, with some of the poorest students—those who would benefit most-going egregiously under-served. This ongoing problem with education highlights one of the core causes of the widening class gap. Reading science books is the perfect way for our students to build literacy skills while learning science content. To provide our children with the perfect learning material, our education research and development team came up with a complete science book. This book was reviewed and approved by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board commonly known as NCTB. The science book is primarily targeted at grade one students and it will be expanded to include other classes as well in the future.

Thank You
We wholeheartedly thank all our supporters for what we created, will serve as a source of knowledge that we met, worked as one, and could return to our lives more satisfied with what we have attempted and what we have achieved.

ICT Minister Visits Online School

On the 24th June, 2015, Information & Communication Technology Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak graced JAAGO with his presence and spent some quality time with the children of our Rayerbazar School. Not only did he come to see the students, he brought a laptop for the computer lab and 2 very interesting reads for the library. The graphics novel illustrates the biography of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The other is an amusing collection of rhymes written by a nine year old boy! Mr. Palak was so greatly moved by JAAGO's education program that he himself became the sponsor parent to a JAAGO child. During his visit he has spent some quality time with the teachers and students. Where he motivated our teacher for their continuous effort to build the nation’s future.
