We are very grateful to all of you who help us here, at GlobalGiving. With your financial and information support we have now the chance to raise money and awareness through over the world for helping children in Beslan. We are planning to go to Beslan 4-11 April 2014. So we have some time ahead to prepare ourselves and raise more funds for this project.
Now we would like to public here some quotation from beneficiaries of Maria’s Children project in Beslan, our dearest friends there, who survived at that horrible siege:
Victoria Kotsoeva, graduate of the School 1, 2013
For us, children of Beslan, Maria’s Children are not just guests of our school. They are even more then friends. It’s like a big and friendly family. We are always waiting for them with impatience because when they arrive, our school turns into a fairy tale full of wonders. Maria’s Children family consists of many loving, open, cheerful and very sunny people who share their kindness with us. They organize plenty of interesting master-classes for kids and senior school pupils. Maria’s Children have really brightened our life. They teach us to be pitiful, together we visit an orphanage where we paint walls and learn to interact with little orphans. And now we are very proud that we have the honor to volunteer with such a wonderful organization!
Azamat Kadiev, 11th form
Why do I like volunteering with Maria’s Children? Because, working in their team, I revealed new aspects of my personality. It occurred that I’m fond of doing things with children: playing football, draw, dancing and playing different games with them. And the most important discovery that I made is the following: all the children of all countries and nationalities like when the sun is shining bright, when it is raining, when leaves are sprouting in spring and falling from trees in autumn, when music is playing and when somebody is caring about you.
Nadezhda Gurieva, history teacher of the School 1
Maria’s Children visits to our school play an important role in our pupils’ life attitude formation. Thanks to them, many of the children-hostages have become more open, sociable, actively involved in volunteering, have a positive influence on their peers. As to me, it is a valuable experience which helps me in my work with our special children. Each time it is a fabulous adventure that helps many children to develop their talents... It’s something that our pupils begin missing already on the next day after Maria’s Children leave. During our stay at Sorochany Summer Camp (which they organize for children from orphanages), one of my pupils, Azam, said: “I don’t understand, how one can abandon their child no matter what the child is like. I will never do so”. And I think it’s the most important result of our efforts.
