The poorest and impoverished people in the rural areas in Tanzania are the HIV/AIDS widows.They are weak but still have the burden to care their families. This project aims to empower 100 widows in Imalinyi Njombe to break poverty circle.
Impoverished widows in Imalinyi ward including their children suffer from diseases and malnutrition. Beekeeping business is cheap to run and can easily be managed properly by the widows. Honey has a good markert both locally and abroad, thus beneficiaries of the project will easily generate income and improve their food nutrients and medicine. The products can be realized within a year, thus alleviating the extreme poverty sooner
Beekeeping project will provide self employment to 100 widows. Honey from 5 hives for each widow, will be adequate to generate some income as well as enhance nutritional value and medicine in the family.
This project will train and educate 100 widows of Imalinyi Ward in beekeeping, harvesting honey, processing, packaging and marketing. Honey and other products sells from beekeeping business will generate income which will improve livelihood and wellbeing of beneficiaries and their families. This income generating activity will break the poverty circle which without, these widows would have continuously remained poor.
