The proposed project aim to empower 10 youth in Abilibom who are HIV positive, drop out of school and are orphans neglected by the community with bee keeping for the production of honey and bee wax as an income genrating activity. They will be provided training in bee keeping skills and life skill in general.
Insecurity in Nortern Uganda has interrupted the provision of basic social services and families lives leading to the prolorification integration of the internally social fabric that use to unite people in the extended families hence social breakdown of good culture, tradition , moral values and support structures as well as increase in the numbers of orphans and child headed households. Violence meted out aganist orphans has left them with psychosocial problem that predisposes them to HIV/AIDS
The project will empower 10 neglected youths in Abilibom village on bees keeping for production of honey and bee wax as viable Income Generation Activities by end of December 2014. Procure and provide machinery and equipments for bee keeping. Provide training for the 10 youth on bee keeping. Strengthen partnership and monitoring of project activities by end of December 2014. Hold inception meeting with the sub-county stakeholders and launch the project. Conduct monitoring of the project
Expected Results of the project
Improved livelihood situations, increase income to10 youths living positivily with HIV , reduced drop out of school going age children of people who will replicate the project in the sub-county. The Revenue potential is estimated at US$ 8,300 per year.
