The Medics plans to establish a five bedded care center for free treatment with food for the poorest HIV+ve persons with serious opportunistic infection in Angul District of Odisha, India.
After closure of the community care centers meant for the persons living with HIV and suffering from AIDS the poorer section of the patients are either discriminated against or do not get right treatment with dignity. Some of them are widows and some orphans and they are not responsible for getting the infection or suffering. The Medics will provide them care and support with compassion and dignity.
We have mobilized support for their accommodation. We will require food, medicine and service of one part time doctor and two nurses for the care and support.
The project will raise the hope of 1146 HIV+ve persons for a dignified living and their family will learn to address the problem in a better way.
