Spring Fun!

HALO Kids with Staff and Volunteers

Spring has finally arrived, and we couldn't be more ready at the Jefferson City Girls Home. We celebrate every season and work to create memorable moments and traditions for the kids who live at HALO. We want them to see that there is beauty in change and give them a foundation of celebration to take with them after they leave the HALO Home. For us, all of that starts with togetherness.

Every evening, our HALO kids have the option to join in with an activity. The activities might be an art project, an outdoor walk, cooking a meal, or visiting a local ice cream shop. No matter what the activity, it gives us a chance to connect with our HALO kids and build the foundation of a family.

Activities at HALO tend to be a family affair. If you came to visit any given evening, you would see staff and volunteers interacting with kids, teaching young mothers how to cook a meal while being mindful of children, modeling positive care, and showing extra love.

From fairy gardens for our little ones to decorative clay bowls for our older kids, art is a big part of our everyday life at HALO. We know that people, no matter their age, can often express things through art that they can't with words. So, we give all our kids the opportunity to create.

No matter the evening, or the activity, we want to make sure that HALO truly is a home for the kids who live there. A place they can feel safe, learn and grow. Thank you for helping to make HALO special. As always, we appreciate your support.
