BCS turns 25; Help Us Add 250 More Families!

by Birch Community Services, Inc.

Summary

BCS is celebrating 25 Years of Growing in Gratitude as we have the opportunity to serve even MORE families. We are excited to add 250 families to our program, but we need YOUR help to reach them. By adding 250 more working, struggling families to BCS, the impact will be enormous as basic needs are met and families are empowered with financial literacy to meet their own goals.

Challenge

Due to increased product donations (almost 9.8 million pounds last year!) BCS has the amazing opportunity to add 250 more working, struggling families to our program. Currently we do not have all of the resources for outreach and partnership development in order to reach the best families. The entire community will benefit from a solution as our financial literacy program has generational impact.By supporting families that typically 'fall between the cracks' we empower a diverse group of people.

Solution

For 25 years BCS has been 'under the radar' so to say as there has consistently been a waiting list to be referred onto the program. With the increase in product, we have the in house ability to serve more families, but need funding for outreach and partnership development with other non profits and companies. These partnerships in addition to increased marketing, will greatly impact BCS' ability to reach the families who could benefit from BCS most.

Long-Term Impact

This project impacts everything we do at BCS. Our mission is to empower families, by providing a community where people can be responsible and accountable for meeting their own needs, and to equip them with the tools they need to achieve financial sustainability. By adding 250 more families, we meet the basic need of hunger and instill financial literacy in the community, internally we will be for sustainable (labor and service fee contribution) and overall we will better meet our mission.
