We are happy to report that the 40 elderly peoples are attending this Sr.Citizen centre regularly.
During the period under report, the following activities were conducted for elderly people.
YOGA SESSIONS
Yoga sessions were also conducted regularly which proved useful to all Sr. Citizens to maintain their normal health. In these sessions beneficiaries were taught the importance of health care and how to relieve body pains as pain is the common symptoms to be found in the old people.
It has been opined that the beneficiaries were practicing daily Yoga at home like Gayatri Mantra, Om Mantra, etc. Most of the beneficiaries found that they become fresh and active throughout the day and it has been also found that most of them recovered or overcomes from breathing problem, headache, joint pain, backache etc.
The beneficiaries were also taught about the importance of “Padmasan” and its benefits for the health. Most of the elderly people tries to do Padmasan in the class and home also.
ON GOING ACTIVITIES
The daily programmes like Yoga, Daily prayer, indoor games, mythological stories, music, bhajans etc. are regularly conducted and all elderly people at Sr.citizen Centre are enjoying their evening time.
During the period under report, the concerned teacher interacts with beneficiaries every day especially she gives the information on save water. She explained that Water is a precious resource. It's important to use water wisely, particularly during extended dry weather.
Elderly people also gained the knowledge on Diabetes through session took on 28th August 2017.
CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL FESTIVALS
During the period under report, festivals celebrated and information was provided to elderly people regarding importance of that particular day, it enabled them to increase their general knowledge.
Ashadi Ekadashi also known in various names like Maha-ekadashi, Padma Ekadashi and Devpodhi Ekadashi is the 11th lunar day of the Hindu month of Ashada which falls in June or July. Images of Vishnu and Lakshmi are worshipped on this day followed by an entire night of offering prayers in the form of songs.
This is a religious procession where people sing and dance in groups praising Vishnu which is called as Dindis
Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is celebrated on a full moon day in the month of Shravan (August) according to the Hindu calendar. It's the day when brothers and sisters reaffirm their affectionate bond. It is typically a Hindu festival but nowadays people from different faiths celebrate it too. On this day, Sisters tie a sacred threads or a colorful special band, rightly called the 'Rakhi' on their brothers' wrist as a mark of affection, sisterly love and sublime sentiments. The brothers in return promise to protect their sisters and offer them gifts.
Pateti - Parsi New Year is celebrated in much the same way as Nowruz, with a focus on celebrating the renewal that a new year brings such as house cleaning, wearing new clothes, giving gifts and making charitable donations.
Pola is a bull-worshipping festival celebrated by farmers mainly in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra,Northern part of Telangana. On the day of Pola, the farmers decorate and worship their bulls. Pola falls on the day of the Pithori Amavasya (the new moon day) in the month of Shravana (usually in August).
