ABC Hosts 1st Inter-School Girls B-Ball Tourney

Dear ABC Supporters,

In December 2011, ABC TALENT Girls Basketball Program concluded yet another successful semester working toward our mission to empower girls who are students in Beijing’s migrant school communities with The 4 C’s (see below).

The semester’s conclusion was all the more exciting, as we hosted our first inter-school basketball tournament!  This culminating event brought together 100 migrant girls in a spirit of community competition and group accomplishment.  The tournament bridged migrant school communities with a diverse group of volunteers. The event was made possible by 16 youth volunteers and basketball coaching staff from Qing Hua International Middle School, 20 members of expat Girl Scout Troupes of Beijing, 28 ABC Volunteers, and Staff. Additional attendees included representatives from Lacoste, a corporate partner in our court construction project at Xiwang Zhixing School, and certified volunteer referees from Beijing Sport University.

Please see attachment to see pictures from the event.

Thanks for your contribution to our Basketball Program's continued success.
