Challenge

With more than 500,000 people diagnosed with autism in the UK it is easy to simply label individuals and communities and is often-misunderstood by incorrect perceptions created in the media. We aspire to break barriers and misconceptions of Autism by creating the show but also giving a platform to talented individual and recognising the ability not the disability, raising awareness unconventional to other charities and mapping into the mainstream world thus bringing both together.

Solution

Although this project It received mass media attention, it requires so much funding that as a small charity we struggle and would like to offer sponsorship opportunities and collaboration with partners to continue this. With more than 500,000 people diagnosed with autism in the UK it is easy to simply label these people. The Autism's Got Talent event is one of the ways of recognising that ability and will showcase the performing talents of a whole host of talent.

Long-Term Impact

This project is unique to any other projects across the world. Most of the acts have spring boarded into exclusive opportunities, the audience feel a rare emotion of hope and belonging and part of a unique network and understanding that anything is possible. We may be a small charity raising Autism Awareness across the globe by making a difference and by caring about individuals. Our charity has the right ethos and the positive integrity to helping and supporting communities and break barriers
