Thank you for your generous support of the Wolfpack Club and your 2014 annual scholarship gift. Your gift will help NC State athletics and its student-athletes create a history and a legacy of their own at NC State. The landscape of college athletics has changed drastically over the last few years. Due to ever increasing tuition and new NCAA legislation, student-athlete scholarships will increase $1.8 million this academic year. The demand to support our student-athletes financially is at an all-time high.
To help the Wolfpack Club meet its ultimate goal of supporting student-athletes, we are introducing a new initiative to provide additional financial support for our student-athletes. The Legacy Fund has been created to provide support that will directly impact NC State student-athletes. In addition to your annual scholarship gift, a yearly contribution to the Legacy Fund will not only provide the resources to meet our immediate needs, but you will be awarded double point credit, recognition in The Wolfpacker magazine, and an official Wolfpack Club game day polo provided by Peter Millar.
I would like for you to strongly consider making an additional $240 gift to the Legacy Fund. The $240 amount is set to honor all of our past student-athletes who wore #24 while competing at NC State and helped create its decorated past. Our mission is to provide support so the legacies created by all wearers of #24 including Tommy Burleson, Tom Gugliotta, and more recently, Julius Hodge and TJ Warren, will continue to thrive.
Wolfpack Club donors have always risen to the challenge, and I hope this time is no different. Our student-athletes and coaches strive every day to compete for conference and national championships, and we have the responsibility to provide the necessary financial resources for them. With the support of loyal Wolfpack donors like you, I am confident the legacy of NC State athletics will continue for many, many more years.
