Medellin is a beautiful country full of life and love, however, haunted by its violent past. We offer hope and guidance through football to children in at-risk communities as they seek higher education and a life away from violence.
The communities we operate in are areas on the outskirts of the city living in extreme poverty. Our program consists of 500 children from these at-risk areas who are at an incredible disadvantage when it comes to academics, athletics, and social structure. Through our program, these children, and their families, learn values such as justice, honesty, teamwork, and love, while at the same receiving a proper education and financial support for their futures.
Our psychologists provide the children with lessons on the importance of values to give them opportunities to find academic and social success. Our team of sociologists work hard with the families of these children to ensure the learning does not stop off the field. They provide workshops with lessons on financial success. Our team of sports coaches provide the children with the opportunity to learn through sport, offering constructive advice which ensures they improve in a sport they love.
We are teaching these children how to succeed not just in football, but in life. Their social skills are improving, their academic marks are improving, and their family dynamics are improving. Our long-term goals are to ensure these children get some form of higher education so they can rise out of poverty and lead lives of consequence. Not only will the individual child be affected, but so will their families and the community they live, as they will become productive members of society.
