Summary

South Africa has the highest HIV prevalence in the world, 5 million plus people are living with the virus, leaving over a million children without parents. These children and others become victims of abuse and end up living in poverty and terrible conditions. JULIDO assist these children through the provision of play therapy and counseling. The majority of these children walk through our doors each day seeking assistance for food, care and a place to call home. It is an emotional and hard work.

Challenge

More than 300 children walk through our doors, abandoned, abused and homeless each month. Some are HIV infected others destitute, requiring shelter, food education, skills and clothing. HIV/AIDS has left over a million children without one or both parents leaving them to fend for themselves. without proper upbringing and education, these children end up in dire and inhumane conditions. This situation requires both passionate, committed and dedicated people to address. JULIDO needs you.

Solution

Three permanent homes will be erected in three provinces for abandoned and HIV/AIDS children with recreational facilities and provision of day to day counseling and play therapy as and when required. Catering for the children's educational needs, growth and development in the process. Access to health facilities and children services. 24 Hours access to services shall be received per home and or center.

Long-Term Impact

Abandoned and HIV/AIDS infected and affected children will have a permanent home and required services to ensure their normal growth and development experienced by other children. The home and or centre shall provide a safe haven for the children affected within the community. The children will have access to their education and skills needed to develop and grow.
